A LICORICE PIZZA PARTY 2022 28.8.22

An exciting return to action post pandemic, A Licorice Pizza Party saw us team with White Wall Cinema for a screening and party based on Paul Thomas Anderson's ode to 1973 Southern California 'Licorice Pizza'. Partygoers entered into a world of Fat Bernie's Pinball Palace and Waterbed emporium, 70s office culture, and the cinema of the day as they sipped Pina Colada's from The Tail O' The Cock bar. With DJs spinning a selection of hand picked early 70s tunes both in the venue and garden plus a big screen pop up cinema showing this was a throwback and a comeback to remember.

WES FEST 2018

11.10.18 - 14.10.18

After running parties based on cult TV & films since 2014, including several Wes themed events, we took the plunge and developed our ideas into a full blown D.I.Y. mini boutique festival for Wes Anderson fans in Brighton. In conjunction with White Wall Cinema we hosted four days of Wes themed events at four different locations including in two screenings, a Saturday night fancy dress party with live band & DJs which took place in an entirely Wes themed immersive setting plus a special Sunday evening visit to a floating venue which recreated a Steve Zissou style Belafonte boat soirée!

A TARANTINO PARTY
2017 22.09.17

Do you know what they call a Tarantino Party in France? No? Neither do we, but we had one in Brighton!

Paying tribute to the universe of Quentin Tarantino, this event centered around the worlds of Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2, Death Proof, Inglorious Basterds, Django Unchained, The Hateful Eight (with nods to likes of True Romance, Natural Born Killers, Four Rooms, From Dusk Til Dawn, Sin City & Planet Terror).

In a venue dressed from top to bottom in props & decor bringing to life your favourite Quentin movies & playing nothing but the classic sounds of Tarantino soundtracks accompanied by a special selection from the K-Billy's Super Sounds of the 70s DJ team, this was a chance to drink, dance & dress Tarantino style!

A PRO WRESTLING
PARTY 2017 14.04.17

Paying tribute to the glorious phenomenon that is professional wrestling, we created a grappling heaven with an elbow dropping, body slamming fancy dress party of Andre The Giant like proportions.

In a venue dressed from top to bottom in wrestling paraphernalia & playing nothing but entrance themes from across the decades, a steel cage full of retro gaming consoles with classic wrestling games, an awesome merch stand, hot dog stall and a whole host of spandex clad surprises from Kendo sticks and steel chairs to MITB briefcases and Undertaker's Urn and casket.. With so many awesome costumes on display we asked some of our favourites to take to the stage and live the dream replicating their chosen wrestler's entrance in front of rabid crowd!

This party was The Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam & Survivor Series all rolled into one.

A WES ANDERSON PARTY 2016 13.05.16

Bigger and better than before, our second Wes Anderson party saw us turn an entire venue into the world of filmmaker Wes Anderson, with a whole evening of Wes based fun inc. Margot Tenenbaum's bedroom, the hotel reception of The Grand Budapest, Camp Ivanhoe, Mendl's Cakes, shrubbery and artwork from Fantastic Mr Fox, Steve Zissou's deep search sub and an entire train carriage from The Darjeeling Ltd with a whole host of Tenenbaums, Team Zissou members, Khaki Scouts, woodland creatures, students of Rushmore Academy, Maitre ‘ds of The Society of The Crossed Keys and many more partying to nothing but the sound of Wes Anderson soundtracks!

A BLADE RUNNER PARTY 2015 14.08.15

Back in 2015 we partied like a replicant celebrating it's incept date as we transformed The Haunt into the Los Angeles of 2019. The Tyrell Corporation filled the party with flying cars, neon lights, burlesque dancers with synthetic snakes, origami unicorns, shirtless blonde replicants holding doves, as well as a few "basic pleasure models"... but only if you passed the "Voight-Kampff" test.

A night of future dystopian fun sound-tracked by synth classics, electronic sounds & robot rock, with a room full of party goers wearing their best replicant wear, fashions of 2019 L.A. & some of Blade Runner's future infused 1940s style glamour.

We saw things you people wouldn't believe… Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion, c-beams glittering in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate... All these… moments… will be lost in time, like tears… in… rain. It was time… to PARTY!

A BIG LEBOWSKI PARTY 2014 28.11.14

A night of White Russians, bowling, dressing gowns & a rug that really tied the room together. Make no mistake, this party was hotter than Jackie Treehorn's "Logjammin" & more reckless than Bunny Lebowksi's driving. So Donny finally shut the f*ck up and knocked back some "Caucasians" in a venue themed from top to bottom in Lebowski paraphernalia (& some Nihilists who seemingly wanted to cut off your johnson); There was artwork by Maude Lebowski that was commended as strongly vaginal, &  a simply awesome Coen's inspired soundtrack that included Bob Dylan, Captain Beefheart, Elvis Costello, Kraftwerk (Nihilists?), Kenny Rogers, Nina Simone. Jefferson Airplane & much, much more.... We didn't hold out much hope for the Creedence tapes though.

A room full of people dressed as The Dude, Walter, Donny, Bunny, dream sequence "viking" Maude, The Nihilists, Jesus Quintana, Bowling Balls, a dismembered green toe, & even the bunch of a-holes that are Metallica's roadies and they all collected a little Lebowksi Urban acheivers certificate (no really)!

A TWIN PEAKS PARTY 2014 24.8.14

Playing a David Lynch inspired sound track and with surrealist set dressing, The Haunt, was turned into the eerie town of Twin Peaks! Complete with coffee & cherry pie, drinks from the Double R Diner, doppelgangers in The Black Lodge, a Miss Twin Peaks contest and of course, donuts!

A night of Lynchian weirdnes populated by fancy dress of your favourite characters, whether it be Laura wrapped in plastic, Special Agent Dale Cooper, Sheriff Harry Truman, Andy, Lucy, Donna, Leland, Maddy, Dr. Jacoby, Audrey Horne, Leo, Shelly, Bob or the infamous Log Lady! Owls, chess pieces, donuts, Josie Packard in the drawer pull and whole host of other obscure costumes! This was one night where the owls were not what they seemed.'

A WES ANDERSON PARTY 2014

25.5.14

Our first ever BFPS event was a riotous tribute to Bottle Rocket, Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, The Darjeeling Limited, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Moonrise Kingdom, & The Grand Budapest Hotel and the man himself Wes Anderson

With a Wes inspired soundtrack inspired featuring Nico & The Velvet Underground, The Rolling Stones, Paul Simon and Art Garfunkle, The Kinks, Seu George, Pulp, Beach Boys, The Who, The Ramones, Elvis Costello, Roxy Music, The Sonics, 13th Floor Elevators, David Bowie, The Faces, Peter Sarstedt, Chad and Jeremy, Cat Stevens, Christie Laume, Hank Williams and more we drank the strongest, finest alcoholic cider money can buy, savoured a refreshing Camparis... on the rocks, and quaffed the sort of Bloody Mary Richie Tenenbaum wouldn't be seen dead without.
